 Buy-out deals offer private equity investors the opportunity to exploit growth potential and create value. This study, carried out by the Universita Cattaneo Castellanza and INSEAD, analyses the effects of buy-outs on the value creation of their target companies.
101 companies, mainly small and medium-sized companies, were analysed in the sample for this report. The results showed that most buy-out deals in Italy happened in the northern regions and occurred mainly in traditional industry sectors. The majority of investors felt that their buy-out deals had exceeded their expectations.
