 Sweden has a rapidly expanding biotechnology sector that presently ranks fourth in Europe after Germany, UK and France. BioSeeker Group provides a useful update on the subdivision of the sector known as biopharma with a focus on Sweden.
Biopharma is the largest biotech industry in Sweden and has a rapid growth rate. In 1996 there were 25 companies focusing on biopharma in the country, in 2002 there are 52. The sector represents a potential opportunity for investors interested in expanding into the area.
