Expectations for the private equity industry in the Czech Republic and Slovakia are more optimistic than those of the US, UK and other larger markets. The second quarterly confidence survey conducted by Deloitte & Touche assesses the sentiment of the region's venture capitalists.
Compared to the rest of the world, the results for the Czech Republic and Slovakia are favourable. Almost 98 per cent of respondents did not expect the region's economy to decline any further in the next six months. Some 56.5 per cent predict that the market will experience an uptick in activity, while 60.9 per cent believe that the importance of private equity funding is set to increase. Overall, the signs for the two private equity markets are more positive than their larger counterparts.
