US venture capital investment rose slightly in the second quarter of 2003 for the first time in two years, according to the PricewaterhouseCooper's MoneyTree Survey. Nearly all industry sectors experienced an increase in investment activity. Software remained the enduring leader with a seven per cent rise to $864m and biotechnology was second with an increase of 14 per cent to $639m.
