If the European venture capital industry is to take advantage of the next wave of technological development, its governments must forget about supply-side initiatives and deliver demand-side programmes instead, according to Ken Olisa of Interregnum. In addition, general partners must recognise the need to add value to portfolio companies throughout the life cycle of their investment and limited partners must abandon the idea that they can approach European venture as a replica of its US counterpart.
