The Asian M&A market, like its global counterpart, has been through a tough three years. There are, however, encouraging signs that these challenging times, coupled with parallel political and economic developments, have left the market superbly positioned for a robust and long-term revival in activity, according to Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. After a sharp decline in 2002 and into the first half of 2003, M&A activity across the region is now on the rise. The resurgence is particularly evident in China, Hong Kong and Japan.
