The latest Corpfin Monthly Review looks at trends in private equity in the Fenno-Baltic area and carries an analysis by value of Scandinavian-related acquisitive deals during the last year. The private equity and venture capital markets experienced a positive development in the whole Fenno-Baltic area during 2004. The investment and fundraising volumes increased compared to 2003 in both Finland and the Baltic countries.
The markets are, however, quite different from each other. The Finnish market is an established one, with some fifty active PE firms and EUR 3 billion under management. The Baltic markets, on the other hand, are still new and only starting to develop into the institutional form found in most o f the Western European countries.
