Nanotechnology is increasingly gaining favour with venture capitalists, although VCs remain cautious that this optimism does not turn into a bubble such as that experienced by the dot-com industry. Nanotech could possibly become a prime target for venture capital funding this year, says Steven Milunovich of Red Herring.
The mapping of the human genome has given rise to a number of new research tools. Biotechnology is poised to undergo enormous growth in the next few years and nanotech will play a big part in this rise.
