An insight into the pros and cons of distressed deals and turnarounds 29/10/2002. Source:Alchemy Partners. Dominic Slade
Deal flow in the turnaround sector is likely to increase going forward, argues Dominic Slade of Alchemy Partners. With continuing uncertainty in public markets and speculation growing as to the length and magnitude of the downturn, there are more opportunities in this sector than there have been for years. Slade gives an overview of distressed deals and turnarounds, including ways in which these ‘creative' investments can be made to work for investors.
The presentation provides: a definition of a good turnaround opportunity; the venture capitalist's role in turnaround investments; the structure of a rescue financing deal; and ways in which to evaluate potential turnaround opportunities.
