The total number of investments in UK privately owned technology companies increased to 28 in the second quarter of 2004, compared to 22 in the previous three months. More significantly, the value of these investments increased by 94 per cent from £89m to £173m, according to Cobalt Corporate Finance. As anticipated 2004 UK technology investment is on course to exceed 2003 levels. The total value of investments in the first half of the year has now reached £262m, compared to £392m for the whole of 2003.
