The severe downturn in the semiconductor industry, following the burst of the bubble in 2000, brought about a new era in which semiconductor companies have had to adapt to slower growth rates, fewer cost efficiencies and consumerisation of the industry, according to Daniel Amir of WR Hambrecht & Co. This has led companies to revise their business strategies and approach their markets differently.
This article presents the trends behind the semiconductor industry and its relation to the capital markets, as well as proposing areas in the semiconductor industry that the firm believes will have strong growth potential over the next few years.
