PER is working with EQT, one of the most successful European funds, with approximately €11bn under management in a variety of funds. The fund is looking to hire an additional associate in order to strengthen its Munich based team. Its highly professional and successful team has a very hands-on approach and established an impressive track record in the European mid-market segment over the last few years. In January 2006 EQT launched the EQT Opportunity Fund with a fund size of approximately €400m – it targets controlling equity investments in companies that have a sound underlying business and clear value creation potential, but which are in special and/or distressed situations with a need for rapid change or turnaround. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be a part of a small and non-hierarchical team and drive transactions along the complete value chain. This will include screening and analysing investment opportunities, managing the due diligence process, building detailed business plans and LBO models, monitoring portfolio companies, and coordinating and steering the exit process. Candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:
- Top academics with a degree from a leading university
- Investment banking or strategic consulting experience from a top international firm
- Strong financial modelling skills and high levels of numeracy are essential
- A commercial mindset and entrepreneurial style
- An interest and passion for special situations investments
- Fluent English and German are essential
