Investors are increasingly turning to private equity fund investments to help boost flagging overall returns. Teresa Barger of the International Finance Corporation provides a useful overview of some of the issues for potential private equity investors to bear in mind.
One of the most important issues is the importance of investing with a top quartile asset manager. The difference between the top performers and the average performers is so great that if investors are unable to find the best managers, they would be better off putting their money in bonds.
