Even though the markets have become more volatile, institutional investors should still consider investing in private equity. Ray Maxwell of Invesco argues that private equity can help to diversify a portfolio and balance risk and return in the long term.
The private equity market has enjoyed enormous growth in the last ten years but is now on the back foot as the global downturn continues to take its toll. This does provide some benefits, Maxwell argues, particularly when considering a vehicle such as a fund of funds.
