The Gresham Monitor - July 200216/07/2002. Source: Gresham Trust.
There is a degree of confidence returning to the private equity industry, and, indeed, the UK economy, as mid-market companies are experiencing renewed optimism in expanding their businesses. However, all businesses will have obstacles to overcome, warns the Gresham Monitor.
Over 57 per cent of respondents expect to undertake a transaction in the year ahead. This is an improvement on the 50 per cent from January. Areas that may be of concern, however, include rising overheads and increasingly burdensome red tape and taxes, exacerbated by the proposed rise in National Insurance.
