Central Europe private equity confidence survey Q1 200323/04/2003. Source: Deloitte & Touche.
Central and Eastern Europe appears to be bucking the global trend of declining optimism. The private equity confidence survey conducted by Deloitte & Touche gives a detailed insight into the sentiments of venture capitalists in the region for the coming six months.
Central and Eastern Europe provides one of the few prospective investment highlights in todays' uncertain economy. Some 52 per cent of those surveyed expect an improvement in the overall economy, while 43 per cent expect no significant changes. Indeed, more than half expect the overall market activity to increase and 95 per cent expect the importance of private equity in the general economy to either increase or remain the same.
