09/04/2003Source: Corpfin Worldwide.

Click here for the latest news, views and interviews in the clean energy investor communityIn corporate finance terms, the 1990s will be remembered for the economic recovery across the financial markets, including private equity. Corpfin Worldwide provides an overview of the rise, and subsequent fall, of various deal types across Europe since January 1993.

Not all the trends that are revealed by the survey are in step. Acqusisitions and development capital experienced significant growth in the late 1990s and early 2000, but acquisitions reached their peak nine months earlier than development capital. The analysis of divestments shows a double peak - one in 1996 and another, which resembles more of a plateau, from 2000 onwards.
