The positive uptick in activity in the Israeli venture capital market seen in the second quarter of 2003 continued to gather pace in the third quarter. Figures from the IVC Research Centre highlight the increase in activity and reveal the new optimism in the industry.
In Q3 2003, 103 Israeli high-tech companies raised $283m from venture investors. This amount represented a modest four per cent increase on the previous quarter, but was up 34 per cent on the first quarter of 2003. First investments in Israeli companies accounted for over half of the total number of investments, compared to 40 per cent in the first quarter.
