The long predicted upswing in the US venture capital market has finally arrived thanks to an improvement in both the IPO market and in trade sale conditions, according to Equip Ventures. Venture capital investing ended 2003 on an up note with investments totalling $4.9bn in the fourth quarter. This figure is up from $4.4bn in the third quarter of 2003 and represents the highest amount invested since the second quarter of 2002.
