US venture capital investments in the first quarter of 2004 totalled $4.6bn, below the $5.2bn invested in the fourth quarter of the previous year, but significantly above the $4.2bn invested in the corresponding period last year, according to the latest PricewaterhouseCoopers' Moneytree Survey. Life sciences companies continued to dominate other industries as they have for the past six consecutive quarters. Investments in the sector totalled $1.3bn, or 27 per cent of all venture capital.
