Mezzanine Management strengthens investment team with ex-Pricoa director10/02/2003. Source: AltAssets.
Mezzanine Management, the first firm to raise an independent mezzanine fund in Europe, is to strengthen its investment team with the appointment of Rolf Brien.
Brien was previously a director at Pricoa Capital, where he was principally involved in developing and implementing the company's investment strategy in Germany.
Rory Brooks, founder-director of Mezzanine Management, emphasised Brien's significant mezzanine experience and said that he was delighted about the appointment.
‘Mezzanine financing is enjoying considerable growth and we are always keen to expand our team when we believe it enhances our ability to source and manage good investments in Europe.
‘We believe the mezzanine market will continue to develop as companies and private equity sponsors seek flexible debt financing to fund expansion or acquisitions,' he added.
The continuingly hostile economic environment is ensuring that mezzanine funds are enjoying more popularity in recent months. While many firms are finding fundraising extremely difficult, a number of mezzanine funds closed above target in 2002 and there is little sign that such popularity is on the wane.
