 Cinven seems likely to add to the slowly growing number of secondary buy-outs providing private equity players with exits in the current hostile climate.
The UK-based group is in talks with WestLB to sell the Odeon cinema group for around £450m.
Cinven acquired Odeon for £280m in 2000, and merged it with ABC Cinemas, which the group had owned since 1996.
Neither firm was available for comment.
