Deal volumes declined once again in the week ending 25 February 2003, with 93 active investors participating in 38 deals across 13 sectors, compared to last week's 110 investors involved in 42 deals across 12 sectors.
There was also further bad news for those investors concerned about liquidity, as no exits were recorded.
North American venture capital remained the most attractive sector, with 26 of the deals recorded. European private equity investment levels slowed almost to a crawl, with just three buy-out transactions and eight venture capital transactions recorded.
Technology and healthcare/life sciences were the most popular sectors, both with eight deals in the past week. Software was the second most attractive, boasting seven transactions across the globe.
