Nordic-focused private equity firm CapMan has announced the expansion of its buy-out team in both Sweden and Denmark. Four new appointments have been made, including Peter Langkjaer, chairman of Danish consulting company Lisberg Management, as senior adviser.
‘The appointment of these investment professionals and the agreement with senior advisor Peter Lankjaer fundamentally consolidates CapMan's position as a Nordic buy-out investor,' said Heikki Westerlund, head of CapMan's buy-out business unit.
‘Strong local representation in Denmark, Finland and Sweden increases CapMan's investment opportunities and enhances the prerequisites for CapMan's existing portfolio companies to expand their business to the Nordic level.'
The three investment professionals to join CapMan from 1 March 2003 will be Göran Barsby as investment director and Mats Gullbrandsson and Rikard Albihn as investment managers.
Barsby worked previously for Ahrens Tillväxtkonsulter AB. Gullbrandsson was formerly with ABN AMRO in New York, and Rikard Albihn joined CapMan's technology business unit in 2001, after co-founding venture capital firm Zone AB.
CapMan announced the close of its latest fund, which will focus on buy-outs and technology opportunities in the Nordic region, with E253m in January.
