UK's Permira underlines commitment to Nordic region with Stockholm office

UK-based Permira has announced the opening of a new office in Stockholm to better enable the firm to take advantage of opportunities in the Nordic market. Kurt Björklund will head up the new office.

Permira has also appointed a new industrial partner, Ole Oftedal, to the new Nordic team. Oftedal was previously CEO of Fritidsresor and Adcore.

Damon Buffini, managing partner of Permira, said: ‘The Nordic private equity market represents an attractive growth opportunity for Permira. The region has generated strong deal flow and attractive returns over a long period of time. We believe that Permira can create a strong and differentiated business in the region by establishing a local office that will work as a fully integrated part of the global Permira network.'

Permira has already completed four transactions in Nordic companies and will focus on those companies in the business services, chemicals, consumer, industrial products and services, media and technology companies.
