Jon Macintosh has joined investment bank Lehman Brothers as a managing director and principal of its private equity division.
Macintosh will work with Julian Entwistle in Lehman's mezzanine department, according to a report by Reuters.
Macintosh joins Lehman from another captive private equity firm DB Capital Partners, part of Deutsche Bank. He previously worked for Morgan Grenfell Private Equity. Highlights of Macintosh's career include Morgan Grenfell's buy-out of Coral from betting chain Ladbrokes and the £1.6bn purchase of the Whitbread pubs portfolio.
Lehman, like other investment banks including Goldman Sachs, is currently building up parts of its private equity practice to take advantage of private equity-driven merger and acquisition deal flow in Europe.
