AXA Private Equity CEO calls for further transparency in private equity industry05/03/2003. Source: AltAssets.
Dominique Senequier, CEO of AXA Private Equity, called for more transparency within the private equity industry in order to get its ‘true development,' at a Frankfurt round table.
‘Investors should have full and instant access to information on deals and reliable results of each fund, including detailed and online data,' Senequier said.
Stephan Illenberger, managing director of AXA Private Equity Germany, pointed out AXA's processes to make transparency a priority: ‘We are constantly updating our due diligence procedures and we report internal rates of return (IRR) for each of our private equity fund investments.'
Senequier also pointed out the under-exploited nature of the opportunities in continental Europe compared to North America, and said that AXA saw good opportunities in Germany.
Transparency is one of the biggest issues in the private equity industry at the moment. Institutional investors, knocked by the performance of public and private markets over the last few years, are looking for ever greater security in their investments.
