US-based Summit Partners strengthens healthcare team with appointment of Craig Frances25/03/2003. Source: AltAssets. 
 US private equity firm Summit Partners has announced the appointment of Craig D Frances as head of the Palo Alto healthcare and life sciences team.
Frances, who holds a BA and MD from Cornell University, was previously managing director of StrandVentures, where he was responsible for evaluating investment opportunities in the healthcare industry.
Summit was founded in 1984 and provides both equity financing and mezzanine, focusing on technology, business services, financial services, industrial products and consumer products.
Summit raised a $2.1bn fund in January 2001, in order to invest in technology, healthcare, financial services and other emerging growth industries.
