3i Group is reportedly in talks with Nestor Healthcare in the hope of teaming up with the management to take over the UK's biggest supplier of agency nurses, doctors and home helps. The private equity firm already owns rival provider Westminster Health Care.
3i is believed to be close to making an informal offer for Nestor, according to the Daily Telegraph. The group is currently capitalised at £300m and this is understood to be the minimum threshold for serious offers.
3i is also believed to have been interested in acquiring UK healthcare service provider Clinovia, which was sold to West Private Equity for £33.4m earlier this week. Gresham, HgCapital and Phoenix Equity Partners were also interested in acquiring the company.
