Advent International has announced the appointment of Beverly Berman as a partner. Berman will be responsible for investor relations and fund marketing activities in North America.
Berman joins Advent from CP Eaton & Associates, an independent placement agent where she was partner with primary responsibility for origination, screening and due diligence of alternative assets including private equity, real estate and hedge funds.
Previously Berman was a director in Credit Suisse First Boston's customised fund investment group. There, she was one of four senior principals responsible for managing more than $5bn of commitments to private equity funds on behalf of CSFB and its institutional investors. Prior to this she was portfolio manager for the Public Employees' Retirement Association of Colorado, one of the world's largest investors in alternative assets.
‘I am truly excited to be part of the Advent team,' Berman said. ‘With its global reach, local presence and strong sector knowledge, Advent is well positioned to continue generating superior returns in an increasingly competitive private equity market.'
Advent International is one of the world's largest private equity firms with $6bn in cumulative capital raised and offices in 13 countries across North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific. Advent has invested in over 500 companies since its inception in 1984.
‘Given the increasing number, breadth and sophistication of our limited partners, we are thrilled to have someone with Beverly's experience and contacts join our firm,' said Will Schmidt, a managing director at Advent. ‘Her knowledge and insights will strengthen our partnerships with investors and better support their needs.'
