The incoming chairman of the British Venture Capital Association (BVCA), who takes over from Michael Queen next week, plans to stress the importance of private equity to the European economy and work in close association with the European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association.
Richard Green, head of Kleinwort Capital, told the Financial Times that the BVCA would later this year launch new guidelines on valuation and reporting.
‘Michael Queen has brought a phenomenal intellect to the role and I want to keep issues such as valuation guidelines and the economic impact of private equity at the top of the agenda,' he said.
Joining Green on the board of the BVCA will be Anne Glover, chief executive of Amadeus, as vice-chair. She is expected to succeed Green as chair in 2004.
