The Institutional Limited Partners Association, the formative representative body for the private equity investor community, has appointed Arlett Tygesen as its executive director.
She currently works in the private equity group at the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS).
Tygesen will be responsible for leading projects and programmes and managing the organisation on a day to day basis. Her time will be split evenly between OMERS and the ILPA.
Richard Hayes, chairman of the ILPA and Senior Investment Officer at CalPERS, said: ‘The board and I are very excited to have Arlett join us in this capacity. She will be the first appointed executive director for the ILPA, which represents a critical milestone for the organisation.'
The ILPA has evolved from being an informal networking body to something closer to a pressure group. It now boasts 150 members from nine countries, who together have more than $1 trillion of assets under management and more than $60bn of private equity capital.
