UK Bridges recruits Tim Lawrence as executive director

Click here for the latest news, views and interviews in the clean energy investor communityUK Bridges Community Ventures, the community development venture capital firm, has appointed Tim Lawrence as executive director.

Lawrence joins Bridges from Nyne, an investor in early-stage technology companies. Prior to that he was a director at Causeway Capital and ABN Amro Private Equity.

Lawrence has been a senior advisor to Bridges for the last six months. He will now concentrate on investment opportunities across England but specifically in the North-West.

‘Tim's enthusiasm for small-scale deals investing in developing companies will strengthen our existing community finance, business building and venture capital experience,' said Philip Newborough, Bridges managing director.

Bridges was launched by the UK government in May 2002 with the intention of providing £40m of venture funding to restore economic vibrancy to deprived areas of the country.
