US communications specialist Meritage Private Equity makes double hire23/04/2003. Source: AltAssets. 
Denver-based Meritage Private Equity Funds, which focuses on communications orientated investments, has announced the addition of two investment professionals, Kuldeep Ram and Derek Pilling, to its partner development program.
Ram joins Meritage from McKinsey & Company where he served as a senior associate with private equity expertise in communications infrastructure. Pilling joins Meritage from the 2003 MBA class of Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Previously he was vice president of the venture-backed Textbook Group at netLibrary.
Meritage Private Equity Funds was founded in 1998 and currently has in the region of $475m of committed capital under management. The firm invests in early and late-stage communications businesses, including broadband service providers, internet infrastructure and outsourced communications services.
Last month Meritage participated as an existing investor in a $31m second round financing for Dallas-based network service provider Masergy Communications.
