US Silver Lake Partners recruits Ed Zander as managing director

Click here for the latest news, views and interviews in the clean energy investor communityNew-York based buy-out specialist Silver Lake Partners has recruited Ed Zander as managing director. Zander will join the firm later this summer.

Zander previously served as president and chief operating officer at Sun Microsystems where he spent 15 years, until he stepped down in July 2002.

‘Joining Silver Lake Partners presents me with a great opportunity to apply my experience in information technology as part of a highly skilled team that is, in my view, unmatched in its approach to successfully investing in an industry that is evolving rapidly and dynamically as it matures,' said Zander.

Silver Lake was formed in 1999 and raised $2.3bn from other funds and wealthy individuals including Bill Gates of Microsoft and Michael Dell, founder of Dell Computer Corporation.
