US Kodiak Venture Partners, a seed and early-stage communications, semiconductor and software venture firm has recruited Chris Greendale as a venture partner. Greendale's appointment is Kodiak's fourth hire within a month.
Greendale was previously a venture partner at GrandBanks Capital, an early-stage technology investor established in partnership with Softbank and Mobius Venture Capital.
In his new position Greendale will be responsible for evaluating and initiating software-related investment opportunities, specialising in the areas of software development, software services, systems integration and consulting sectors.
‘Having been in the entrepreneur's shoes several times, I know that investors who take a hands-on approach to building early-stage companies into sustainable businesses contribute far more than the dollar value of the funding they provide,' said Greendale.
‘Kodiak's strategy of investing in and working side-by-side with companies to help build them into market leaders attracted me to the firm,' Greensdale continued. ‘I look forward to the opportunity to help expand the firm's software practice and apply my operational expertise to the benefit of Kodiak's portfolio companies.'
Last month Kodiak appointed Subhash Roy as entrepreneur-in-residence, Beth Hoffman as principal and Elliot Katzan as partner. In January the firm recruited Lou Volpe, previously president and chief operating officer at ArrowPoint Communications, as co-managing director.
