US William Blair recruits former ClearLight GP

Click here for the latest news, views and interviews in the clean energy investor communityChicago-based William Blair Capital Partners has recruited Robert Healy as a managing director. Healy joins the firm from ClearLight Partners where he was a general partner for three years.

Healy previously served as a principal at Los Angeles-based private equity firm William E Simon & Sons. He has also worked in investment banking in New York and Los Angeles with Merrill Lynch.

Healy's primary responsibility at William Blair will be on leading later stage growth equity investments and leveraged buy-outs of middle-market growth companies.

William Blair was founded in 1982 and has invested over $700m in 150 US companies. The firm focuses on business and consumer services, healthcare, industrial growth and technology sectors. William Blair is currently investing from its $400m seventh fund.
