A number of private equity firms including Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, Blackstone Group, CVC Capital, Permira, BC Partners, Cinven and Advent International are reported to be circling chemical manufacturer Dinamit Nobel.
The deadline for first round bids has been set for the first week of December and offers are expected to be made in the region of E2.5bn.
Private equity firms will also be competing against trade buyers such as Dutch chemicals manufacturer DSM, according to a report by Reuters.
Dinamit Nobel is a subsidiary of MG Technologies. The business was put up for sale following MG’s decision to focus on speciality mechanical engineering. MG is also hoping to reduce its E1.3bn debt burden and to expand further into the US and Asia.
