NIB Capital has been selected to invest E100m in private equity investment opportunities on behalf of Dutch Pension Fund Horeca & Catering. The mandate represents a further expansion of NIB’s private equity investment activity and a broadening of its client base.
Pension Fund Horeca Catering is a Dutch industry-wide pension fund for employers and employees working in the food and beverage industry.
The fund said it had chosen NIB to manage its private equity mandate after a rigorous selection process. In particular, it picked out NIB’s solid ownership structure – the firm is owned by two o the largest Dutch pension funds – and the diversity of its private equity expertise. In addition to primary fund investments, NIB also makes direct private equity investments, co-investments, and secondary fund investments.
By investing in private equity, Pension Fund Horeca & Catering said it aimed to achieve both diversification of its investment portfolio and increased investment returns.
NIB Capital currently manages over E14bn, most of which belong to its owners the ABP and PGGM pension funds.
