Private equity firms compete for Swedish Oriflame

Click here for the latest news, views and interviews in the clean energy investor communityAt least four private equity firms have entered into the second round of bidding for Swedish cosmetics firm Oriflame. The sale is expected to raise in excess of E1bn.

A consortium of Texas Pacific Group and Advent International has been selected along with Nordic firm EQT and UK’s Permira, according to a report by Reuters. Oriflame is currently owned by Industri Kapital.

Industri Kapital acquired Oriflame in 1999 for in the region of £263m. At that time the company had full year sales of E333m and an operating profit of E42m. In 2002 the company reported sales of E544m and an operating profit of E96m.
