At least four private equity firms have entered into the second round of bidding for Swedish cosmetics firm Oriflame. The sale is expected to raise in excess of E1bn.
A consortium of Texas Pacific Group and Advent International has been selected along with Nordic firm EQT and UK’s Permira, according to a report by Reuters. Oriflame is currently owned by Industri Kapital.
Industri Kapital acquired Oriflame in 1999 for in the region of £263m. At that time the company had full year sales of E333m and an operating profit of E42m. In 2002 the company reported sales of E544m and an operating profit of E96m.
