Italian mid-market private equity firm, Investindustrial, has recruited Dante Razzano as a senior partner. Razzano was previously head of Morgan Grenfell Private Equity in Italy.
'We've been searching for a senior partner for nearly four years but buy-out investors with deep knowledge of the Italian market are a rare breed,' said Andrea Bonomi, chairman of Investindustrial. 'I've known Dante for many years and it's a real coup for us to have him join our team.'
Razzano left Morgan Grenfell Italy last year when Deutsche Bank assumed direct control of the E100m private equity unit. His track record includes high profile deals such as the buy-out of Piaggio, the Italian scooter manufacturer and Ducati, the motorcycle manufacturer.
Investindustrial is soon to launch its second fund targeting E400m. The firm's first fund closed on E323m in April 2000 and is now over 50 per cent invested.
