GMT Communication Partners, a private equity firm specialising in media and communications, is to set up an industry council made up of international media industry professionals.
Participants in the council will include Robin Gill, founder of Border TV, Philip Graf, the former chief executive of Trinity Mirror, Bruno Claude, chief executive of Cablecom and Robert Crozier, a former president of Time Magazine International.
GMT hopes that the council will add market perspective to their portfolio companies. 'They will give us a competitive advantage in assessing opportunities for our current and prospective investments as well as introducing us to a new level of business contacts,' Jeffery Montgomery, a partner at GMT, told the Financial Times.
