 The Carlyle Group has recruited Wayne Tsou as head of Asia Venture. Tsou joins the firm from Warburg Pincus.
Tsou's new role will see him lead a team of ten investment professionals and oversee the opening of a new office in Shanghai. He will be based in Hong Kong.
Carlyle Group currently has ten venture companies in its Asia portfolio, including Ctrip in China and e-Access in Japan. The fund manages two venture funds in the region with a total of $350m of commitments.
