 European life sciences venture capital firm, Abingworth Management, has recruited Michelle Doig. Doig will be responsible for managing the funding and refinancing of the firm's portfolio companies.
Doig was previously a director in the corporate finance and advisory team at Bioscience Managers, where she worked with life sciences companies in the UK and Europe on strategic mergers and acquisitions and capital market transactions. Prior to this, she was an investment banker for Lehman Brothers and also worked in the US biotechnology group at JP Morgan H&Q.
'The process of refinancing companies is a highly specialised part of the venture investment business,' said Stephen Bunting, managing director of Abingworth. 'We think Michelle knows all the key players on both sides of the Atlantic and will improve Abingworth's efficiency in completing and closing financings.'
