US private equity firm, Code Hennesy & Simmons is to buy key manufacturer, The Hillman Companies, from Allied Capital Corporation. The transaction has been valued at $510m and net cash proceeds to Allied Capital are estimated to be $192m.

Code Hennesy & Simmons was founded in 1998 and manages approximately $1.5bn in capital in four funds. The firm focuses on middle-market manufacturing, distribution and service companies.
