 US New Enterprise Associates has closed its latest fund on $1.1bn. The firm is targeting less than half of the amount of capital it raised in its previous fund, which closed on $2.3bn at the peak of the venture bubble in September 2000.
The firm focuses on investments in the information technology and life sciences sectors. The new fund is targeting approximately 60 investments over the next three years, according to a report by Marin Independent Journal and investments will range from $200,000 to $50m.
The new fund brings New enterprise Associates' total funds under management to approximately $6bn.
