Valentia, a consortium of private equity firms, looks set for an exit from its 2001 investment in Ireland's biggest telecoms operator Eircom by floating the firm back on the market in March. The firm is expected to be valued at around E3.5bn.
The group includes Providence Equity Partners, Soros Private Equity, Goldman Sachs, and Irish media magnate Tony O'Reilly. They delisted the firm in 2001 and are now reported to be planning to offload their entire shareholding, more than 70 per cent of the firm.
Valentia said the flotation would take advantage of improved valuations in the telecoms sector.
The consortium was reported to have paid around E2.8bn when it took the firm off the market.
