Secondaries specialist Coller Capital has hired Rudy Scarpa as a partner in the firm's New York office. Scarpa joins Coller from Thomas H Lee Putnam Ventures. He previously served as a senior investment banker in Merrill Lynch's private equity group.
'The United States currently represents approximately 42 per cent of our capital and some 38 per cent of our assets,' said Jeremy Coller, chief executive officer of Coller Capital. Rudy Scarpa's appointment reflects the importance of the United States to our business, and our determination to continue to grow that business. Coller Capital's current fund has commitments of $2.6bn and is the largest secondaries fund in the world. The firm currently has 173 positions in140 funds and owns interests in more than 2,000 companies worldwide.
