US Spectrum Equity Investors has hired Steven Price as a general partner. He will be responsible for the firm's investments in the media, IT services, and entertainment industries.
Most recently, Price was president and CEO of LiveWire Capital, an investment and management group that focuses on media, telecom and IT industries. Price also served as president and CEO of PriCellular Corporation, a listed cellular telephone company that was sold for $1.7bn. He also served at the Pentagon from 2001 to 2003. Spectrum was an investor in both LiveWire and PriCellular.
'Steven's experience growing businesses, along with his work in government, law and finance, allow him unique insights into business strategies and investment opportunities,' said William Collatos, founder and general partner of Spectrum Equity Investors. 'I'm confident he will quickly become a trusted advisor to our investors and portfolio companies, and we are thrilled to welcome him as Spectrum's newest partner.'
'Spectrum's mission of forming true partnerships with the management of portfolio companies is exciting to me as a former chief executive,' said Price. 'What sets Spectrum apart is its focus on media and telecommunications, and its ability and desire to invest in growth-orientated companies as well as later-stage acquisitions and investments.'
Spectrum Equity Investors is a private equity firm specialising in investments in the media, communications and information industries throughout North America and Western Europe. The firm currently has over $3bn in capital under management.
