UK Saffron Hill Ventures has acquired Mitsubishi's European portfolio. The deal will add six companies to Saffron's portfolio, bringing the total to 13.
As a result of the transaction, Saffron Ventures has appointed Martin Blindheim as principal. Blindheim previously served as investment director at MC Capital Europe, Mitsubishi's European venture wing. Prior to this, he worked in management consulting positions at McKinsey & Co. and the Boston Consulting Group.
Saffron Hill Ventures was founded in 2001 and is financed primarily by Jacob Rothschild, chairman of RIT Capital Partners, David Landau, co-founder of Loot, and Citigroup Technology Ventures. The firm focuses on early-stage software deals in Europe, particularly in the UK, and invests between £500,000 and £1.5m per transaction.
